Carlton Lodge is a very well equipped outdoor centre run by North Yorkshire Youth, a charitable organisation with a long history of working with young people.
It offers day and residential courses for groups of young people, including school groups. There are many exciting activities on site, including water activities on a large lake. In addition, the staff are well qualified to take groups to outdoor pursuit locations in the surrounding area.

| Carlton Miniott Playing Fields Association | Carlton Miniott Playing Fields Association is a registered charity which administers playing fields situated at the junction of Carlton Road and Sandhutton Lane. For further information Sam Irvine tel. 526344.
The Parish Council congratulate Mrs Sam Irvine and Mrs Andrea Colls who have been elected as Chairperson and Vice chairperson of the playing field committee. There is to be a survey of the parents and parishioners in general with regard to their opinions on what else is needed at the playing field. It is hoped that there will be a very good response and support. Remember the playing field is for the good and benefit of the whole village. |

| Thirsk & Northallerton Golf club | The Thirsk & Northallerton Golf course is approximately 3 mile away.
It is an excellent eighteen-hole parkland course. There is a well-stocked professional’s shop where lessons can be booked if required.
Meals are available at the club house and bar facilities and refreshments are available.
