| The Local Area | Carlton Miniott is west of Thirsk along the A61. The village stretches for about 1¼ miles from Thirsk Rail Station, where there is a concentration of modern housing, to the 'village' itself.
The approach from the west is quicker without going into Thirsk itself. - From the A1(M) from the north take the B6267 and the A61.
- From the south take the A168 at Dishforth, the A167 at Topcliffe and the A61 from Busby Stoop.
