Carlton Miniott is 2 miles west of Thirsk on the A61, and is easily accessible from the A1(M)

The A19 provides a direct route from Teesside and York and the A170 runs to Scarborough.

Thirsk Rail Station is at the edge of the village, with direct services to London, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.

The nearest airports are Durham & Tees Valley (25m) and Leeds/Bradford (35m).
The Local Area
Carlton Miniott is west of Thirsk along the A61. The village stretches for about 1¼ miles from Thirsk Rail Station, where there is a concentration of modern housing, to the 'village' itself.

The approach from the west is quicker without going into Thirsk itself.
  • From the A1(M) from the north take the B6267 and the A61.
  • From the south take the A168 at Dishforth, the A167 at Topcliffe and the A61 from Busby Stoop.
